Dandelion fields SOLD

Description

Dandelion fields wildflower landscape mixed media artwork inspired by the grassy pastures between the sea and mountains of the west coast of Scotland and the Hebridean Isle of Skye. The Hebrides has a great diversity of wild flowers. The dandelion is a tough resilient flower, admirable qualities and perhaps one of the reason they crop up in so many of my pieces of art. Many dandelion superstitions have evolved into childhood tales – ask any seven year old, and they’ll tell you that if you blow on a dandelion puff, the tiny seeds will carry a wish. Their feathery seed heads are also said in folk law to carry messages to loved ones long lost. A beautiful thought. Created using my collage and paint techniques, layering rich textural surfaces and sprinkling with gold leaf.
